'I’m excited to give Ranger a good home': A once-injured and abandoned rescue puppy recovers and starts a joyful new chapter with a family ready to love him

From an abandoned house to a warm home, Ranger is finally getting the puppyhood he deserves.

Ranger came from a start no puppy deserves. He was found in an abandoned house in Chicago with burns on his body, a tiny survivor in a place that should have protected him. Now he's safe, healed, and settling into a home that's excited to give him the life he should have had from the beginning. Despite everything, he's gentle and sweet, meeting people with trust instead of fear.

At just under six months old and already 42 pounds, he's all oversized paws and growing energy. He plays hard, cuddles harder, and carries that goofy puppy optimism like nothing in the world has ever gone wrong. Dogs have a way of moving forward that feels almost magical. Ranger isn't defined by what happened to him. He's defined by the way he greets each day like it's brand new.

Watching a dog bounce back like this is quietly inspiring. He doesn't dwell, doesn't hesitate, doesn't hold grudges. He runs, naps, eats, and leans into affection like it's the most natural thing in the world. Now he gets a home where he's safe, wanted, and celebrated for exactly who he is. For a puppy who started life in the wrong place, landing here feels like the right ending to the story.

  • He sleeps like a dog who knows he’s safe. Fully relaxed, stretched out, not worried about a thing. You can tell he feels comfortable enough to let his guard down and just rest. Seeing that kind of sleep hits different when you know where he started. A comfy nap like that is a quiet sign he understands he’s home now.

    nyamoV4 Little guy looks like he's already home. My pittie mix was similar weight. We're now 75lbs at 3. My guess. would be somewhere between 60-80. Could get lucky and have him almost full grown. Hope you guys have a wonderful lifetime ahead of you

  • He’s a big dog, but his heart is even bigger. All that muscle and he’s still just a soft, gentle guy who wants to be close to people. It’s always funny seeing such a large dog act so sweet. You expect intimidation and get pure affection instead. That kind of gentle giant energy never gets old.

    FifiBunny Rabbit I am adopting a boy who is 2 years old and looks exactly like Ranger. I would say that his adult weight will be around 60 lbs. That's just a semi-educated guess though so don't hold me to it. Thank you for adopting him, he will be a great joy to you!
